Lucite has a pretty neat history and has been used in a variety of ways since the mid 1800's. We now refer to this material as acrylic or basically hard plastic. Lucite was an inexpensive way to go back in the day as they found it to be quite sturdy and could be used a variety of ways.
But do we really care so much about the history? Well yes, I suppose so to an extent. But truly, we just drool over the designs, shapes and colors of these treasures. They are truly pieces of art and are sometimes not even used!
Girls just love purses. We have since we were little girls! We also love things that sparkle and shine and lucite purses do just that. Just looking at them takes us back to a time we may or may have not have lived in. Make no mistake, gals of today honor days of old and respect the beauty generated from those times.
To collect or not collect? Such a hard decision. We are proud of our precious gems and don't want to take the chance of damaging these treasures. But oh wouldn't we love to stroll the town with a lucite purse in our hand showing the world our pride and joy. Do we actually use these purses we've invested in and take such good care of? Or do we honor and protect them so that they can never have their shine taken away.
Whatever you decide, trust knowing that lucite purses are still available to this day to obtain. Consider one in other than mint condition to actually use and save those big ticket purses for display.
There's no place like eBay to fall in love with a lucite purse and make one your own.
